Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
✔️ Is fumigation compulsory for all wooden boxes and wooden pallets utilized in export?
Yes. If your shipment employs wooden packaging and is bound for a nation adhering to ISPM-15, fumigation becomes compulsory.
✔️ For how long does the fumigation process of the wooden box and wooden pallet take?
The procedure typically takes 24–48 hours, encompassing fumigation, exposure, and aeration.
✔️ Does fumigation affect goods within the boxes?
No, the gases are directed towards the wood and won't touch sealed or packaged contents within the boxes.
✔️ Is a fumigation certificate valid?
Most are 15–21 days and are good for a single consignment.
✔️ Can reused boxes be fumigated once more?
Yes, if the original ISPM-15 stamp is no longer legible or if the box has been modified, it needs to be re-treated and re-certified.

Trusted by exporters. Approved by authorities. Committed to quality.
Machinery, spares, auto parts and heavy equipment are usually exported in wooden boxes and crates. Under ISPM 15, the solid wood in these boxes must be treated and marked. We fumigate assembled boxes and crates, including those already packed with goods, with methyl bromide under sheet or inside the container. Each box receives the IPPC mark IN-679 MB on two opposite sides.

For pallets, see wooden pallet fumigation. For treated new packaging, see ISPM 15 heat treatment.
Yes, if the box is made of solid sawn wood and goes to a country that applies ISPM 15. It must be heat treated or methyl bromide fumigated and marked. Boxes made fully of plywood or MDF are exempt.
The fumigation itself needs at least 24 hours plus aeration, so allow 1 to 2 days before the box is ready for dispatch with its certificate.
Methyl bromide is suitable for most machinery, spares and packed goods. A few materials, such as some rubber and leather items, can be affected, so tell us the contents in advance.
