We hold ISPM-15 licence IN-679 MB for methyl bromide fumigation and IN-469 HT for heat treatment. Every consignment we treat leaves with a valid fumigation certificate and the correct IPPC stamp.
Our fumigation services cover wooden pallets, boxes and crates, full container loads, break-bulk cargo, ship holds, warehouses and stored commodities. A trained fumigator carries out each job, checks gas levels with calibrated monitors and records the treatment exactly as the National Plant Protection Organisation (NPPO) and ISPM 15 require.
Fumigation is a way of controlling pests in which a gas, called a fumigant, is released into an enclosed, gas-tight space. The space can be a container, a sheeted stack of pallets, a warehouse or a ship's hold. The gas is held at a set concentration for a set time. Because it is a gas, it reaches deep into timber, gaps in packaging and bulk commodities. Contact sprays cannot reach these places. Once the exposure period ends, the space is ventilated until the gas falls to a safe level, and the goods can then be handled and shipped.
The two fumigants used most often in trade are methyl bromide (MBR) and phosphine (aluminium phosphide). Methyl bromide acts quickly and is the approved chemical treatment for wood packaging under ISPM 15. Phosphine is used mainly for grain, pulses and other stored products. Heat treatment is the chemical-free alternative for wooden packaging.

For most export consignments we fumigate the same day or the next day. Methyl bromide treatment needs at least 24 hours of exposure plus aeration, and the fumigation certificate is issued immediately after the treatment is completed and cleared.

Both are approved under ISPM 15 for wooden packaging. Heat treatment (HT) leaves no chemical residue and is accepted by every ISPM 15 country, while methyl bromide fumigation (MB) can be done on packed cargo and inside containers. Some countries no longer accept MB, so tell us the destination and we will advise.
